Goodbye Eurovision

It was an amazing adventure, I'm going back home tired but proud, very proud. I can't hide I'm a bit sorry, performing at the Grand Final would have been the icing on this wonderful cake (let's face it, who doesn't like to win?) but yesterday's performance paid off the whole work done with my team at this time.

The biggest thanks goes out to my fans that supported, incited, scolded - when needed! - and pushed me so far... Now I'm looking forward to see you on tour (check the dates out on my site)!

A special hug goes to Panini and my new team, an awesome mix of international experience and languages, great professionals from whom I absorbed everything I could and I'm working on with for my new record, a new single (out very soon!!!) and some live dates.

And of course thanks to San Marino that accompanied me in these months... We both loved it and the experience was great!

The first semifinal!

Heeeey! That is it: tonight's the night everybody! You are not going to believe how anxious I am to perform tonight on stage: it has been a long trip and I am looking forward to it. Also because yesterday I was thinking that passed the jury voting dress rehearsal half of the pressure was to be going away... but no: I am more excited and anxious than yesteday :P

The official calendar of Senit's rehearsals in Düsseldorf

After the first rehearsal, held on May 2nd, Senit will be again on the Eurovision Stage Thursday, May 5th, for the Second Official Rehearsals before the Semifinal of Tuesday, May 10th. The Sammarinese entry will be performed during the official Dress Rehearsal (actual rehearsals of the entire show, entry after entry, country after country) on Monday, May 9th at 15:00 and 21:00 and on Tuesday, May 10th at 15:00 right before the important Semifinal Night.

Senit is enjoying her trip in Düsseldorf and is sharing it with all her fans via her official Facebook Page and her official Twitter Page, out of her official Eurovision Stage, she is joined by her fabulous team of singers and musicians and her choreographer Shaun Fernandes for long private rehearsals towards the Eurovision Semifinal.

On her YouTube Channel will be uploaded videos from her adventure in Düsseldorf.

Senit has been interviewed by the webradio Radio Stonata as Sammarinese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The interview will be aired Saturday May 7th from 14:00 to 15:00 during the programme "Music Files", hosted by Alex Lai. The webradio (reachable at this link), each saturday since April 16th, presents all the participants to the Eurovision Song Contest, before the long awaited returning performance of Italy to the contest, during the Grand Final of May 14th.

The official video for the song Stand by has been officially presented today during the meeting of the delegations in Düsseldorf. The video has been shot between London and San Marino and has been posted on the official sammarinese webpage for the Eurovision Song Contest, reachable here.

Senit will participate in the first semifinal of the Eurovision contest on May 10th, 2011. Tomorrow at 15:00 will be drawn the starting order for the semifinal, San Marino has already been placed in the second half of the semifinal.

The Sammarinese song for the Eurovision Song Contest has been presented today. Its title is "Stand by" and it is a soft-rock ballad that has been defined by Senit herself "really choral". The presentation has been aired on San Marino RTV at 20:10 CET and on the Eurovision.tv website.

The show, hosted by Emanuela Rossi, aired images from the backstage of the shooting days for the official video for the song, that will be release in the next few weeks.

Monica Sarti has been confirmed as a backing vocal for Senit in Düsseldorf. Monica, who is from Borgo Maggiore in San Marino, studies at Ferrara Academy of Music and sing in the femal group "Arcadia".

The show is available to be watched on demand on the Eurovision.tv website.

The waiting is coming to an end: tonight will be presented the sammarinese song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The entry will be presented during a special show that will be aired at 20.10 CET on San Marino RTV (Channel 73 of DTT in the Republic of San Marino and Emilia Romagna) and webcast on the website Eurovision.tv.

The show will feature a brief interview with Senit about her carrier and her future journey to Düsseldorf, few funny backstage videos, interviews with her friends and the first cut of the video, that has been filmed in London and San Marino.

The show will be also available online in the next few days.

On March 11th San Marino and Senit will unveil their long awaited second Eurovision entry for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

At 20.10 CET, San Marino RTV will broadcast a fifteen minute mini-show where backstage videos, a presentation of Senit and a first cut on the video, that's going to be filmed in London and San Marino in the next days will be shown. It is planned for Eurovision.tv to broadcast the show additionally for international viewers.

And yes, the San Marino RTV commission has selected the entry from the available songs and the song will be now finalised for Friday night’s show.

Senit and many Eurostars will be present and giving performances at the Azerbaijani national final on Friday. Senit will sing on the same stage with Safura (Azerbaijan 2010), Sofia Nizharadze (Georgia 2010) and Anna Rossinelli (Switzerland 2011). The show will be at the National Theatre Concert Hall, Baku, live on TV and on live streaming on Internet

The national final will see Ilhama Gasimova, Eldar Gasimov, Ilgara Ibrahimova, Aynishan Guliyeva and Nigar Jamal will all be battling for the right to represent their country in Düsseldorf at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.

The show, scheduled to be held this Friday at 18:00 CET (21:00 local time), will not only be broadcast on Ictimai TV (Azerbaijan), as it will also be shown on TRT (Turkey) and GTVR (Georgia). You can also follow the national final on www.eurovision.tv and www.itv.az.

Senit: an international artist

La biografia di Senit, artista scelta per rappresentare San Marino all'Eurovision Song Contest 2011

Senhit Zadik Zadik, meglio conosciuta come Senit ha un background artistico internazionale, testimoniato non solo dalle sue origini eritree, ma dalla sua tipicità di cittadina del mondo, protagonista di progetti ambiziosi a latitudini diverse. Sarà lei a rappresentare San Marino alla 56° edizione dell’Eurofestival, che si svolgerà a Dusseldorf il 10, 12 e 14 maggio 2011.

She has Eritrean origin, was born in Bologna, and has an international background. Senit is an eclectic interpreter whose activities range from musicals to discography.

Her artistic debut was in Switzerland with the musical FAME (1999-2000) under the direction of Andreas Koeneche and she soon extended her collaborations to include prestigious authors such as Massimo Ranieri, as in the musical IL GRANDE CAMPIONE under the direction of Patroni Griffi. The 2001-2002 season saw her as the protagonist of the musical that celebrated her success in Germany – THE LION KING signed by the Walt Disney Studio under the direction of Julie Taymor.

In 2002 she went back to Switzerland and joined the cast of HAIR, directed by Joachim Schlote. In February 2006 Senit took part in the musical RENT which was produced by Pavarotti International and signed by Gianfranco Vergoni.

At the same time Senit started performing as a singer and started a collaboration with the Stadio, she had the chance of going on a tour and opening their concerts and made herself known to the Italian public.

In May 2006 Senit “made her debut” inf the world of Italian discography with the album that took her name “SENIT”, produced by Panini, historic editing house of footballers stickers, that chose her as the testimonial of their new discographic activity. The album, under the direction of Gaetano Curreri and Saverio Grandi, sold thousands of copies.

In 2007 the artist focused on the creation of “UN TESORO E’ NECESSARIAMENTE NASCOSTO”, her first album of Italian unpublished songs, with an original arrangement from “The beauty and the beast” musical theme. This new album, produced by Panini under the artistic direction of Popi and Maurizio Fabrizio, was introduced by a single: “La faccia che ho”. In the album, her voice is both smooth and soft as well as aggressive and powerful; her talent as a soul singer became so evident that Zucchero asked her to open his 2007 Fly Tour concerts.

Introduced by two singles, “WORK HARD” and “NO MORE”, on 29^th May 2009 her third album, “SO HIGH”, was published. It was recorded in Los Angeles in collaboration with Michael Baker, a historic drummer who had also arranged and produced artists such as Missy Elliot, Christina Alguilera and Whitney Houston. It was her first step to the Hall of Fame of R&B and international pop music.

On 21th June of the same year Senit participated in the concert “Amiche per l’Abruzzo” together with great artists such as Laura Pausini, Gianna Nannini, Fiorella Mannoia and Giorgia, a project born to raise funds to invest in the reconstruction of all had been destroyed during the earthquake in Aquila. After this extraordinary event, which allowed them to raise more than 1 million Euros, a dvd was born – which is still one of the top sellers and which also contains Senit’s live performance of “No More”.

In November 2009, a few days after her new single “Party on the dance floor” had come out – third extract from the album “So High” - Senit had her tv debut as a conductor. She became the presenter in the programme “Urban Charts” on HIPHOPTV, a daily appointment, during which Senit, as VJ resident, presented several charts and gave information mainly about the world of black music, also inviting well-known international artists as guests. Her commitment on tv continued to the end of 2010. In October she took part in the 2^nd HipHopTv Birthday Party together with the most popular hiphop Italian artists.

Still in November, from the 21^st to the 25^th, Senit performed in Asmara, at a festival organized by the National Confederation of Eritrian workers, to celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the workers’ movement. It is a way to go back to her original place of birth, Eritrea, to live and interact with Eritrian artists from all over the world. Here again Senit showed her ability of being a “no-limit” artist, her voice was appreciated not only in Europe but also in Africa, a country which is, geographically speaking, very far from Italy but, in spite of that, very interested in an artist who is undoubtedly talented from a singing point of view .

The next step which made Senit land in the Us, was the shooting of the video “Party on the Dance Floor”, in December 2009. A project which involved an international team – photography by George Lyon and post-production by Chris Foster for “Spy Dirt”, graphic design studio for the Cinema and Tv which had already been working with very important artists such as U2. Senit then opted for a universal language which combined Pop and her passion for R&B. The video, born from the idea of two Italian directors, Marco Bellone e Giovanni Consonni - who are used to playing with different languages in their videoclips, from documentaries to videos of great events – has been on the major national tv networks since 19th February 2010.

After her experience abroad, which allowed her to meet and personally live the culture of the country where R&B was “coined” for the first time, Senit went back there in spring and summer 2010 to record some demos tracks with some of the most important American producers, who had already been working with some other great artists such as Pink, Destiny’s Child, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Busta Rhimes. During her stay on the West Coast, Senit also focused on the pre-production of here new album, cooperating with an exceptional team.

Senit will represent San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011

Per l’edizione dell'Eurofestival 2011 San Marino mette in campo una squadra internazionale e sceglie Senit come rappresentante: sarà lei a rappresentare San Marino alla 56ª edizione dell’Eurovision Song Contest, la manifestazione, conosciuta in lingua italiana come Eurofestival, che si svolgerà a Dusseldorf il 10, 12 e 14 maggio 2011.

Senhit Zadik Zadik, better known as Senit, shares with San Marino RTV a common background and approach: she is a real citizen of the world. Born and raised in Bologna from an Eritrean family, she has already been involved in ambitious projects all around the world. Next May, she will represent San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest.Along with new Satellite and Digital Terrestrial broadcasting, San Marino RTV achieves a further objective with the return to the Eurovision Song Contest.

Senit and the members of the Sammarinese delegation will contribute with their artistic background, their professional approach and their know-how. San Marino RTV is marking its return to the contest with a renewed approach, in the framework of a remarkable effort.

San Marino RTV sets a new target for its participation to Eurovision: together with a good position in the final rank, the goal of the broadcaster is sending the ESC entry to the European airplays and charts. Senit will represent the international and open-minded side of the Republic of San Marino, following the path of other small countries like Luxembourg and Monaco, who had achieved great results in the Eurovision History.

San Marino will be represented in Düsseldorf by a cosmopolitan artist together with an international production team who will assure that the tiny Republic will meet the standards required by the contest.

San Marino RTV will rely on an high-class team, made of established professionals, who will assist and co-ordinates all the stages of the project, from the Preview video clip to the choice of the song, up to the involvement in many promotional initiative already planned for the Eurovision Weeks.

As soon as the selection and production of San Marino entry proceed, San Marino RTV and the production group will select a team of backing vocalists and musicians who will perform with Senit on the Düsseldorf stage. In this regard, San Marino RTV hopes to be able to select a sammarinese singer or musician. All the information about such selection will be provided in the following days through San Marino RTV website.
